RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group company CESC Ltd on Friday posted a 2.3 per cent increase in its standalone net profit to Rs 178 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2017 as compared to Rs 174 crore in the year-ago period.
Its revenue from operations grew by 8.5 per cent over last year at Rs 2,184 crore during the period under review compared to Rs 2,012 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, it said in a regulatory filing.
The power utility company reduced its fuel cost during the quarter to Rs 390 crore as against 442 crore in the same period last year.
Profit before tax increased marginally to Rs 227 crore in the June quarter from Rs 226 crore for the year ago period.
