Actress Charlize Theron has adopted a newborn girl and named her August. She obtained the custody of the child in July, a month after she broke up with actor-director Sean Penn.
Theron worked with an adoption agency for six months. The baby was born in the US and is 0African-American. She joins four-year-old Jackson whom the actress adopted from South Africa in 2012, reports tmz.com.
"I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me. It's given me perspective," Theron, 39, said of motherhood to W magazine.
The actress and Penn, who split in June, reunited in South Africa to re-shoot "The Last Face", which he directed and she starred in.
