The condition of a 18-month-old, rescued from a 70-foot narrow borewell in Haryana's Hisar district, was critical, doctors said on Saturday.
The child was admitted to Maharaja Agarsen Medical College and Hospital in Agroha on Friday after he was rescued from a borewell in Balsamand village after a 48-hour operation.
Hospital Medical Superintendent Geetika Duggal said the child was referred to another hospital as they didn't have faculty for bedside echocardiography.
The child was suffering from pneumonia and one of his lungs was also damaged, she said.
The rescue team, comprising the National Disaster Response Force, the Indian Army and the district administration, had to dig a parallel well to reach the child, officials said.
