Filmmaker M. Manikandan, whose critically-acclaimed Tamil children's film "Kaaka Muttai" releases in cinemas on Friday, says children are the most natural actors anybody can work with.
"Making children act can be very challenging. It can cause both mental and physical stress. But when they perform, they do it with such ease and it automatically makes them seem so natural," Manikandan told IANS.
The film, which is about two brothers in a slum, is a story about their longing for pizza.
"When you force children to act, you may find the experience challenging as they don't like to be instructed. But when you let them be themselves, you'll be amazed how naturally they can perform," he said.
"Initially, I struggled to even shoot a scene with them. Once I learnt how to work with them, it turned out to be such a refreshing experience," he said.
Jointly produced by Dhanush and filmmaker Vetrimaaran, the film is marketed and presented by Fox Star Studios.
