China blasts toll rises to 146

The toll in the warehouse explosions that rocked China's Tianjin city two weeks ago rose to 146 on Friday, the media reported.

As many as 27 people were still missing, Xinhua news agency said.

All the dead have been identified, including 89 firefighters, nine policemen and 48 others. The missing people include 16 firefighters, two policemen and nine others.

Two blasts ripped through a warehouse on August 12 in Tianjin Port where large amounts of toxic chemicals were stored, including around 700 tonnes of sodium cyanide.
