China has an undisputed sovereignty over the Huangyan Islands and the neighbouring sea, Hong Lei, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman, said Wednesday.
Hong's remarks came following reports that the Philippines was discussing how to deal with concrete blocks installed by China on the islands, reported Xinhua.
Dismissing concerns raised by the Philippines, Hong said China's activities on the Huangyan islands and the neighbouring sea were in accordance with its sovereignty.
He said China has urged the Philippines not to stir up new troubles.
China hoped the country would make efforts to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea and restore bilateral relations, Hong added.
