Chinese, France discuss relations

China and France discussed their bilateral relations as foreign ministers of the two countries held talks here Friday.

The talks were held between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and visiting French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

During the talks, Wang said their bilateral relations were at an important stage as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year, reported Xinhua citing the Chinese foreign ministry in a release.

China is willing to maintain close contact and strategic communication with France, deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields as well as enhance cultural exchanges, he added.

China is also ready to strengthen coordination with France on international and regional issues, said Wang while vowing to push forward China-France ties and China-Europe ties.
