A commercial chopper with a pilot on board went missing Tuesday in New Zealand, media reported.

The chopper was flying from Karamea to Nelson for routine maintenance, New Zealand Radio reported.

"The chopper was flying in tandem with another helicopter but was not in line of sight or radio contact in weather condition described as windy but clear," rescue co-ordination centre spokesperson Steve Rendle said.
