A forgetful Metro commuter had good reason to be thankful to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Friday: The force kept safe and later returned a bag containing jewellery worth Rs.2.50 lakh he left at the baggage checking system in the morning.

The bag was found at the roller of the X-ray baggage inspection system of west Delhi's Pratap Nagar Metro station Friday around 7.30 a.m. by CISF constable Mahbub, an official said.

"As the bag was unattended, it was thoroughly checked from security point of view. After confirming that there was no suspicious item in the bag, it was opened and the jewellery was recovered from it," said the official.

The bag was later returned to its owner Sumit Mehra when he contacted the CISF officials of the Metro station, the official said.
