CISF to contribute one day's salary for Uttarakhand victims

More than 1.35 lakh personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Friday announced that they would contribute a day's salary to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to assist those affected by the Uttarakhand devastation.

CISF Director General Rajiv had written to the Prime Minister Office (PMO) Friday that his force would contribute to support the victims.

"Expressing their deepest concern for the pilgrims affected in the Uttarakhand devastation, more than 1.35 lakh CISF men have decided to donate their one day salary for the vitims' welfare," said Rajiv.

He said that the money would be handed over to the PMO by Tuesday.
