The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) here on Friday sought a report from Lucknow police on a complaint filed by suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.
The official on Friday approached the CJM court through his counsel Akhilesh Awasthi under section 156(3) CrPC for registering FIR against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for having threatened him on phone with dire consequences on July 10.
CJM Som Prabha Mishra got the complaint registered and called for a report from Hazratganj police station. The next date of hearing is August 4.
Thakur had presented the complaint to Vijay Pal Singh Yadav, inspector at the Hazratganj police station, on July 11 and to Senior Superintendent of Police, Lucknow, Rajesh Pandey, on July 23 when the Hazratganj police failed to register the FIR.
Meanwhile, inspector Yadav intimated the police official through a letter dated July 17 that his complaint had been enquired into and found to be false. Calling this enquiry illegal, complainant Thakur presented the application before the CJM for registration of FIR.
His complaint says that Mulayam Singh Yadav telephoned him on July 10 and intimated him.
