New Delhi, April 27 (IANS) A Class 11 class student fell to his death under mysterious circumstances at a government school building here, police said Saturday. The student's family alleged that he was murdered by his classmates.

"The body of Dinesh Kumar, 17, was found Friday evening on the ground in the school premises in Nangloi in west Delhi. A school staff spotted his body and informed the administration," said a police officer.

"The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital. The report is awaited," the officer said.

The school administration said that the boy committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building.

Dinesh's father Raj Kumar however said that his son had a fight with some of his classmates a few days ago, due to which he did not want to go to school.

"He went to school Friday afternoon to submit his leave application, and we came to know of his death the same evening," Raj Kumar said.

"My son could not commit suicide," he added.

Following the allegations of lapses by the school administration, the Delhi government suspended the school principal Saturday.
