Samiksha Bhatnagar, who plays one of the four heroines in the forthcoming film "Love Ke Funday", says her training as a Kathak dancer helped her perform better as an actor.
Samiksha, who hails from Dehradun, is a certified Kathak dancer from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad. Having acted in TV serials like "Veera" and "Baal Veer", she has also done a cameo in Madhur Bhandarkar's film "Calendar Girls". But "Love Ke Funday" is her first film in a lead role.
Talking about her role, Samiksha said: "I play a glamorous girl called Jassi who is married and working in a company. She is modern as far as her thinking is concerned and is practical and does not stray at all from marriage."
Did the film offer any scope to try her hand at performing classical dance?
"No," she said, and added: "It is not at all necessary that you will get an opportunity to do everything in a film that is offered to you. There is no classical dance in the film. There is only fun, romance and emotion in the film, which has got all the ingredients required for a movie to click at the box office."

Samiksha said it's tough to pick one field out of films, TV and classical dance.
"In today's times, you just cannot think in terms of this. It all happens as per when and what opportunity you get. Thanks to classical dance, I benefited by way of my facial expressions and body language.
"I am ready to accept whatever offer comes my way -- whether big or small -- as long as I am able to leave a lasting impression with my role," she added.
"Love Ke Funday", written-directed by Indervesh Yogee and produced by Faaiz Anwar and Prem Prakash Gupta, is releasing on July 15.
She wants people to watch the movie and give her the "right feedback".
