Delhi government's top officials have been asked to closely monitor rights cases for their early disposal and respond timely to the notices issued by NHRC.

"Chief Secretary S.K. Srivastava has asked the head of departments to closely monitor the cases pending with the National Human Right Commission for ensuring their early disposal," said a Delhi government official Sunday.

Srivastava said every department must nominate a nodal officer who will regularly update the existing records of NHRC-related cases.

The official also said that Srivastava expressed concern over the issue of late filing of replies and NHRC cases should be monitored properly by all the departments.

"He has noticed that in many cases, the replies are not filed on time resulting in adverse orders being passed by the NHRC in such cases," added the official.

Principal secretary (home) told Srivastava that 10 cases of 2013 and 14 cases of the current year are pending.
