The Kashmir Valley would remain mostly cloudy on Tuesday, with scattered rain and thundershowers across the state for the next two to three days, a local Meterological Department forecast said.

"Weather will remain mostly cloudy today. There is a possibility of light rain with thundershowers towards the evening," an official of the local weather office told IANS here.

He said that wet conditions would continue till June 6 (Friday), with an improvement in weather conditions thereafter.

"Fairly widespread rains to isolated thundershowers are expected in Jammu and Kashmir till Friday morning. However, there will be a decrease in precipitation from Friday onwards," the official said.

Meanwhile, cloudy weather brought the day temperatures down in the valley.

The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Tuesday was 12.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the season's average.

"Gulmarg and Pahalgam recorded the minimum temperatures of 3.4 degrees and 6.7 degrees Celsius, respectively, today (Tuesday)," the weather official said.

In Ladakh region, where mainly clear sky was forecast, Leh town recorded a minimum of 4.5 degrees and Kargil town 5.0 degrees Celcius.
