Chennai, April 27 (IANS) DMK president M. Karunanidhi said Saturday everything relating to the investigation in the coal mine allocation scam should be done in an honest manner.

"My view is that everything should be honestly done," he told reporters.

He was replying to the question about the submission made by the director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the Supreme Court that union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar had vetted its draft report.

The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the centre is facing the heat on this issue from the opposition parties, which are demanding the resignation of Kumar and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

CBI Director Ranjit Sinha Friday told the Supreme Court that the draft of the status report on the coal block allocation scam was shared with Kumar and also with senior officials in the Prime Minister's Office and coal ministry.

The DMK is upset that the joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probing the 2G telecom spectrum allocation scam did not grant a hearing to its leader and former telecom minister A.Raja.

Raja is the prime accused in the 2G allocation scam.
