Three women pilots of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) created history by flying a reconnaissance sortie over the Arabian sea, an official release said Wednesday.
It said a Coast Guard maritime reconnaissance Dornier aircraft took off from Daman air station with an all-woman crew and flew for over an hour.
"This flight was a maiden all-women flight by an ICG Dornier in the history of the Coast Guard," the release said.
The crew comprised Assistant Commandant Neetu Singh Bartwal (captain of the aircraft), Assistant Commandant Neha Murudkar (pilot in command) and Assistant Commandant Shristi Singh (co-pilot).
