Cold, overcast Wednesday in Delhi, Thursday likely to be clear

It was a cold and overcast Wednesday in the national capital with the maximum temperature being recorded at 13.1 degree Celsius, seven notches below the season's average. The met office has forecast a clear Thursday.

The sky Wednesday remained cloudy. Thursday will start with moderate fog which will lift later in the day, said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and the minimum temperatures of the day are likely to hover around 15 degree and 6 degree Celsius.

The fog Wednesday morning delayed 48 trains.

"Twenty-nine trains were running late while 19 trains were rescheduled and 2 trains were cancelled due to fog in and around the national capital," a Northern Railway statement said.

 

According to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the departure of three flights was delayed due to the poor visibility caused by the fog.

The day's minimum temperature Wednesday settled one notch below the season's average at 6.4 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday's maximum temperature was recorded three notches below the season's average at 17.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 9 degrees Celsius - two notches above the season's average.
