Real Madrid's newest signing, defender Danilo on Friday said Colombian international and teammate James Rodriguez has proven to the world that he is not overrated.
Rodriguez joined the Spanish giants last year after an impressive World Cup, in which he finished as the top-scorer and was brilliant in his debut campaign.
And Danilo, who played alongside the 23-year-old Colombian at Porto prior to his transfer to Monaco, believes he has dispelled any doubts over whether he is worthy of his place at the Spanish team.
"I played alongside him at Porto for two years and I knew back then that he was a great player," Danilo was quoted as saying by goal.com.
"Some people thought he was overrated and he has proven that he is not. He is one of Real Madrid's best signings of recent years," he said.
Danilo also stated he is up and ready for the prospect of playing under new head coach Spaniard Rafael Benitez, who replaced Italian Carlo Ancelotti earlier this summer, despite his reputation of being a hard taskmaster.

"I like rigour and focus. They make you grow and develop," said Danilo.
"I'm not at all afraid or anxious (about Benitez's reputation); on the contrary, it makes me breathe easy because I know I will be pushed to my limits."
The Brazilian defender also praised his new teammate Cristiano Ronaldo saying the talismanic Portuguese is the best footballer in the world.
"Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now. He has the FIFA award (the Ballon d'Or) to show as much. If I had to vote, I would vote for him," he said.
