Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday ordered an inquiry and sought a report within five days after an image of a question paper surfaced on social media which asked if a 'Muslim kills a cow in a market in the presence' of Hindus, has he 'committed any offence'.

In the order, a copy of which is with IANS, Sisodia said the question was posed to students taking the LLB third semester exam in the School of Law at Narela affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

"Ahmed, a Muslim kills a cow in a market in the presence of Rohit, Tushar, Manav and Rahul, who are Hindus. Has Ahmed committed any offence?" the question asks.

Calling the question "highly objectionable", Sisodia said: "How could such a reprehensible question with a communal overtone be framed for an LLB exam?"

Sisodia, in the order issued on Tuesday, directed the Secretary (Higher Education) to initiate an inquiry and sought a status report within five days.
