Union Minister of state for Human Resource Development Ram Shankar Katheria on Saturday said the formation of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has restored in people faith in democracy, which was eroding during the UPA regime.
"Governance system established under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past 10 months has not only restored but also boosted public confidence in Indian democracy which had been eroding during the previous government's regime," Katheria said while inaugurating the "National Education Summit" organised by Assocham.
"Our government is trying to improve lives of people by shoring up education scenario and promoting skill development initiatives in rural and backward areas," he said.
The minister said that there were lakhs of unemployed graduates, including those who had pursued various professional courses like M.Tech, M.Sc and others, and the industry together with the active support of the government should show them the path to growth and development.
"There is no dearth of knowledge amid youth in India's rural and tribal areas but they have to face various obstacles due deficient infrastructure and lack of both government and industry support," said Katheria.
"... they need to work in tandem to lift up the deprived rural youth whose talent has no value today," the minister said.
"... industry should explore the possibilities of improving the lives of rural people through research and innovation initiatives," he added.
