The Lok Sabha could not take up any business during the first half of Tuesday as Congress members kept shouting slogans against the central government.
The house was adjourned till afternoon following the slogan shouting that went on without a break.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan pleaded with the protesting members to be calm but they did not pay heed.
"Political vendetta won't work! Stop dictatorship!" were some of the slogans raised in the house.
Mahajan asked others to continue with the normal legislative business but nothing could be heard amid the din.
