Congress Gen-Next set to lose in Tamil Nadu

The hopes of the sons of two Congress leaders to play a role at the centre were blown away Friday, as the AIADMK swept Tamil Nadu in the general elections.

While union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram opted out of the contest, his son Karti P. Chidambaram was given the party ticket from Sivaganga.

Congress sitting MP M. Krishnaswamy also decided to sit out, and his son M.K. Vishnu Prasad contested in his place from Arani.

According to the trends available, both Karti Chidambaram and Prasad were trailing their AIADMK rivals.

However, standing against the AIADMK wave is PMK's Anbumani Ramadoss, who was leading in Dharmapuri.

Anbumani Ramadoss is the son of PMK founder S. Ramadoss.
