Delhi Congress spokesperson Jitendra Kochar and his councillor wife Nutan Kochar were Thursday issued show cause notice by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for anti-party activities, sources said.

"Hauz Rani councillor Nutan Kochar and former councillor and Delhi Congress spokesperson Jitendra Kochar were issued show cause notice. They were accused of campaigning against the party during the state polls," the sources said.

AICC general secretary and in-charge of Delhi elections, Shakeel Ahmed has asked them to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.

Delhi Social Welfare Minister Kiran Walia, a sitting legislator from Malviya Nagar, had complained about the couple's activities.

Jitendra Kochar reportedly wanted to contest from Malviya Nagar constituency.
