Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday appointed R.P.N. Singh and P.L. Punia to look after party affairs in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, respectively, relieving party General Secretary B.K. Hariprasad of the responsibility.
Hariprasad had written to Gandhi a few months ago, asking to be relieved of the charge.
However, he continues to be party General Secretary in charge of Odisha.

The task of looking after party affairs in Chhattisgarh has been assigned to a new AICC team in place of B.K. Hariprasad and Bhakta Charan Das, another statement said.
