Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi Monday led party workers in paying homage to party colleagues killed by Maoists in Chattisgarh.
The event began with a prayer meeting. The gathering then observed silence for two minutes and offered floral tributes to the slain leaders.
The 45-minute prayer meeting was organised on the lawns on the Congress headquarters.
Indicating the mood in the party, Congress general secretary Janardan Dwiwedi said: "We are both sad and angry."
Nearly 30 people were killed when Maoists ambushed a convey of Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh Saturday.
