Over 2,000 protesters of the Indian Youth Congress Thursday protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government for failing to fulfill its poll promises, including bringing black money back to the country.

The protests were held at Jantar Mantar in the heart of the capital. The demonstrators raised slogans and tried to break police barricades.

"We are protesting against the government as they have not been able to fulfill any of the promises made, whether it was about was black money or border incursions," Amit Mallick, Delhi president of the Indian Youth Congress, told IANS.

To control the crowd, police used force and also detained few of them.

"We had to use force and detain few of them as they turned aggressive," Additional Commissioner of Police SBS Tyagi told IANS.
