The Congress has formed a national campaign core committee to assist the existing party structure to implement a pan-India campaign activities at the grassroots to highlight "the plight of the nation caused by the anti-people policies of the BJP-led government".
This was decided during a meeting of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi with state unit chiefs and state leaders on December 26.
"In addition more than 200 perty leaders have been identified and will be deployed as campaign coordinators to help the party's campaign at the district level," documents accessed by IANS showed.
The party has also decided to form state-level implementation committees.
"The total members of the committee may not exceed the total number of divisions in the state, presidents of frontal organisations will be ex-officio members of the committee," it added.
The party also decided to form district campaign committees entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out the campaign in the districts.

"The President of District Congress Committees (DCC) shall be the coordinator of the campaign committee," it added.
There will be 7-9 members in a district-level implementation committee, which would comprise senior party leaders of the district.
According to the documents, the district-level implementation committees will serve as the operating arm of the district campaign committee.
According to the programme schedule proposed during the meeting, on December 29-30 there will be state press conferences, on January 2 there will be district-level press conference by state leaders along with leaders of the district.
On January 5, there will be gherao of collectorates by Congress persons at district level and on January 8, there will be a 'thali' demonstration by women party members.
