A commercial complex aimed at boosting bilateral trade at the China-Nepal border broke ground on Friday morning in Tibet's Burang county.

According to local officials, the Tanggar International Border Trade Market covers an area of 72,403 square meters and will receive 195 million yuan ($30 million) in investment, Xinhua news agency reported.

The market, once built, will become a commercial complex that incorporates merchandise trade, business, leisure, logistics and storage.

Burang borders Nepal to the south and India the southwest. The county's Tanggar market dates back to over 500 years ago.
