Moscow, Sep 20 (IANS/ITAR -TASS) Russia hopes to develop cooperation with India in all areas, including military, technical and nuclear energy, according to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
"We are interested in developing our cooperation with India in all possible ways and areas," Medvedev told the 15th General Assembly of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies Thursday.
"This is a strategic goal of the Russian government. This is why we hold regular meetings of the heads of government and state," the prime minister said.
Referring to the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu, he said: "I think things are developing there quite well. New agreements were signed... I hope this cooperation will go stronger."
He said Russia and India were "privileged partners".
"In addition to energy issues, our relations cover a number of other sectors, including most sensitive ones," he said, adding the two countries were working together in the military and technical fields.
