Australian police here Friday conducted a raid as part of a counter-terrorism operation, media reported.

Police have raided at least one home in Sydney as part of Operation Duntulm, the Sydney Morning Herald reported quoting an Australian Federal Police (AFP) spokeswoman as saying.

It is believed property raided is in Greenacre, a suburb near Sydney.

Operation Duntulm is focussed on foreign incursion offences and has previously resulted in the arrest of Fatima Elomar, the wife of Australian terrorist Mohamed Elomar.

She was stopped at Brisbane Airport on her way to join her husband in Syria and was charged with supporting incursions into Syria with the intention of engaging.

The Joint Counter Terrorism Team have conducted a number of raids in Sydney in 2014 including the sweeping pre-dawn raids Sep 18 in which 800 police personnel searched dozens of properties and detained 15 people.

Omarjan Azari, 19, was charged with conspiring to commit a terrorist act.

In December, police raided homes in Marsfield, Regent's Park and Condell Park in Sydney and charged Sulayman Khalid, 20, with plotting a terrorist act.
