A court here Monday dismissed the interim bail plea of former parliamentarian Dhananjay Singh's wife Jagriti Singh, accused in a case of maid's torture and death.
Jagriti had sought interim bail on the grounds of her "deteriorating medical condition", however, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Lokesh Kumar Sharma dismissed the bail application.
The bail application had stated that Jagriti needed to undergo gall bladder surgery due to her deteriorating medical condition.
Dhananjay Singh, accused along with his wife in connection with the alleged murder of their maid, was charge sheeted Feb 1 for various offences, including destroying evidence and abetting murder and attempt to murder.
The charge sheet filed in the case by police said that Jagriti used to beat three domestic helps with metallic deer horns, wooden sticks and electric iron. She has been charged with murder also.
Singh and his wife, who is a dental surgeon in a government hospital here, were arrested in November 2013.
