A court here on Wednesday framed charges against Aam Aadmi Party legislator Som Dutt in a rioting case during campaigning for the 2015 assembly election.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ruby Neeraj Kumar framed charges against Dutt relating to rioting, wrongful restraint, voluntarily causing grievous hurt and unlawful assembly under the Indian Penal Code.
After the accused pleaded not guilty and claimed trial, the court listed the matter for July 27 for recording statement of prosecution witnesses in the case.
The court also issued summons to complainant Sanjeev Rana as witness in the case.
Rana has alleged that during the campaigning at Gulabi Bagh in north Delhi, Som Dutt with his supporters hit him on the legs with a baseball bat.
