A court here on Wednesday granted bail to a man suspected to have links with the Islamic State terror group.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Khanagwal released on bail accused Mohammad Rehmat Pasha, who is accused in a case under the Arms Act.
Pasha, who hails from Attapur, a suburb of Hyderabad, was arrested by the Delhi Police special cell on October 5 and locally-made pistols were seized from him outside the New Delhi railway station.
According to police, he had come to Delhi to carry out anti-national activities and had links with the IS.
Pasha was asked to furnish a personal bond of Rs.25,000 and a surety of a like amount.
The court observed that investigation in the case was complete and no fruitful purpose will be served by keeping him behind bars.
Defence counsel M.S. Khan, however, told the court that his client was falsely implicated in the case.
