The Delhi High Court Thursday issued notice to a former pilot of Spicejet airline on the company's plea seeking recovery of Rs.17 lakh from him as cost incurred by it in training him. The pilot quit from the airline without serving the agreed term of five years.

Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw issuing notice to pilot Siddharth Kasana sought his response by Oct 7.

Spicejet moved the court challenging the order of a trial court which dismissed the company's plea against its former pilot holding that the company to be "vindictive".

The court said the airline forced him to resign and then sought reimbursement of over Rs.17 lakh as cost incurred by his training.

The airline alleged before the trial court that Kasana left the job before the agreed period of five years and the cheque given by him as security at the time of his appointment in 2006 were dishonoured for insufficient funds.
