A court here on Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking order to lodge an FIR against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leaders for failure to deliver on their election promises, terming it as a "publicity stunt".
Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh dismissed the plea of a social worker and a monthly magazine Kasan Yatra's editor, Pandit Narender Sharma, observing that he has filed the petition to gain publicity.
The court said the plea cannot be allowed as there is no provision under law to proceed against any leader for his failure to deliver on promises made during election campaign.
Sharma sought the court's direction for registering an FIR against Kejriwal and three other party leaders as they failed to deliver on their promises.
Sharma alleged that projects were being delayed under the rule of Kejriwal and the aim of the leaders was to remain in the media headlines.
