The Delhi High Court on Monday refused to pass any interim order on a plea of BJP MLA O.P. Sharma to allow him to attend the Delhi assembly session that began on Monday. Sharma has been suspended for two sessions for passing derogatory remarks against AAP MLA Alka Lamba.

Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva told the lawyer for Delhi government to take instructions on who would represent the assembly and posted the matter for hearing on Tuesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had moved the high court to challenge a Delhi assembly resolution suspending him for two sessions.

The Delhi assembly passed a resolution on March 31 against Sharma after the Ethics Committee recommended his expulsion for making derogatory remarks against Lamba.

Sharma said the Ethics Committee's decision was "wrong and biased" because all its nine members were from AAP.
