A day after nearly 1,200 convicts escaped from a prison, a courthouse was bombed in the same Libyan city of Benghazi Sunday night, said security sources.

The courthouse was located in northern Benghazi, reported Xinhua while adding that the explosions were heard by local residents.

On Saturday, in a major jailbreak, nearly 1,200 convicts, most of them facing serious charges, escaped from al-Kuifiya prison of the city. Some of them were later recaptured.
