Leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met on Monday in Beijing to discuss a key five-year plan for the world's second largest economy.
The fifth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee will discuss proposals for making the five-year plan for the country's national economic and social development from 2016 to 2020, Xinhua reported.
The five-year plan needs to be ratified by the National People's Congress before taking effect.
The CPC's political bureau will also report its work to the Central Committee during this week's meeting.
