An official in China's top legislative body was on Monday expelled from office and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for violating discipline.
Yang Shaocheng, an official with the general office of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, was charged with corruption and violating discipline of the CPC, Xinhua reported.
Yang is also suspected of seeking benefits and accepting assets while handling personnel affairs, the CCDI said, adding that some of the alleged acts violate criminal law.
