Media portal mediasarkar.com which conducted a sting on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates filed a criminal defamation case against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and four other colleagues.

Anuranjan Jha, the head of media portal, named Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi, Kumar Vishwas and Yogendra Yadav in the case.

"These people without any valid proof have called me traitor, fraud and middleman. They have alleged that I took Rs.12 crore to do sting on the AAP candidates in Delhi elections," Jha said in a statement.

He said the AAP has no document to prove the above allegation and have tried to tarnish his image and career.

The AAP had Sunday claimed Rs.1,400 crore was distributed in some media houses to defame the party.

The sting operation showed some AAP members allegedly accepting donations without proper verification.
