An absconding criminal, having a Rs. one lakh reward on his head and wanted in several cases of extortion, murder, attempt to murder an INLD legislator in 2012, and robberies in Delhi and Haryana, was arrested on Tuesday, police said.

Virender Sehrawat alias Bholu, 28, was arrested from northwest Delhi's Nangloi area. He was earlier arrested in 2012 for allegedly attempting to kill Najafgarh's then Indian National Lok Dal legislator Bharat Singh.

"Sehrawat was released on parole in November last year. But he jumped it and was carrying a cash reward of Rs. 1 Lakh on his head," said joint commissioner of police (crime branch) Ravindra Yadav, adding that a stolen motorcycle that he was using was also seized.

Last month, Sehrawat's friend Vikas Dagar was also arrested along with two others.
