Criminal with Rs.1 lakh bounty held

A dreaded criminal carrying a bounty of Rs.1 lakh was arrested here along with his three accomplices, police said on Tuesday.

Surender alias Cheeku alias Chairman, 30, a resident of Mohanpur village of Mahendragarh district in Haryana, was arrested by Gurgaon Police on Monday.

The arrested criminal was involved in the killing of a Rajasthan councillor Trilok in Behror last year and murdered a jeweller in Alwar district in Rajasthan six months ago.

He was also involved in three other killings. Besides, he also raped a woman and has been involved in several other heinous crimes, police said.

The three others arrested were identified as Arvind alias Ponting, 21, Kashmir alias Neeraj, 26, and 19-year-old Naveen alias Bachiya.

 

Two pistols and cartridges were recovered from the possession of Surender and Kashmir.

Police said that three other accomplices of Surender managed to flee.

A police officer said the "arrested criminals are being grilled in police remand".
