Hours after a court on Thursday directed Delhi Police to seize CCTV footage at the Secretariat where Delhi Minister Imran Hussain was allegedly attacked, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party alleged that Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was "protecting" the attackers.
"Two days back, those who assaulted Imran went to the Chief Secretary due to fear that they will be put behind the bars," AAP leader Ashutosh told the media here.
He claimed the top bureaucrat -- who had claimed assault by two AAP MLAs on February 19 night -- expressed support for the attackers and assured them that there would be no action against them.
According to multiple video clips, Hussain was attacked by a mob in protest against the February 19 incident.
The court has directed Delhi Police to assess the "threat perception" to Hussain and provide him the necessary security.
Citing the court order that prima facie an assault was carried out against Hussain and the SHO concerned ordered to seize the CCTV footage, Ashutosh said what his party claimed was confirmed by the court.
