Cursing BJP government has become a 'fashion': Naidu

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said it has become a "fashion" nowadays to curse the BJP-led central government for anything and everything.

Brushing aside allegations of vendetta against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is facing a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe over alleged financial irregularities, Naidu said the Bharatiya Janata Party or the government has nothing to do with it.

"The law is taking its own course. The government or the party (BJP) has no role in it, let me make it very clear," Naidu said.

"Making political allegations against the government and the BJP has become a fashion among some opposition parties and those facing charges. By doing so they are trying to cover up their faults," he added.

The CBI on Friday carried out raids at the residences of RJD leader Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri and son Tejashwi Yadav, who is also Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, in connection with a case of alleged irregularities in leasing two railway hotels to a private company when Lalu was the Railways Minister, a charge denied by him.
