A cycle rally was held in Gurgaon on Monday to support 'Car- Free Day' (CFD), in which senior police and civil officials participated apart from members of the public, an official said.

The cycle rally was organised to increase awareness about the 'Car-Free Day' initiative (to be held on Tuesday) and ask more citizens to decongest the city roads by using non-motorised and public transport.

As part of the initiative, the CFD team along with several corporate executives and public representatives cycled in Udyog Vihar on Monday morning.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bharti Arora, Deputy Mayor Paraminder Kataria and councillor Mahesh Dayma, corporate executives like Nagarro CEO Manas Fuloria, Snapdeal senior director Delip and Adbridge CEO Ajay Trehan, Embarq India team and road safety officers were among those who cycled for over 15 km in Udyog Vihar here.

The rallyists went to several offices, including Nagarro, Snapdeal and Authbridge and promoted the use of public transport every Tuesday.

CFD will be observed on selective roads in new Gurgaon's four IT zones on Tuesday.
