The Czech Republic officially offered the UN soldiers for its peace mission in the Golan Heights, but not they would not go there before 2015, Defence Minister Vlastimil Picek said Monday.
The statement came after Picek and Foreign Minister Jan Kohout met Herve Ladsous, UN under-secretary general for peacekeeping operations, on the weekend, Xinhua reported.
Up to 150 Czech soldiers could be deployed in the mission, while five Czech transport helicopters could join UN peacekeeping forces in the west Sudanese region of Darfur and three combat helicopters could be deployed in Mali.
There are 38 Czech soldiers already participating in the European Union Training Mission in Mali.
