Actor-singer David Cassidy has revealed that he is suffering from dementia.
Following his concert at The Canyon Club in Agoura, California, over the weekend, the 66-year-old said he has been suffering from the memory loss disease.
"I was in denial, but part of me always knew this was coming," Cassidy told people.com.
He also revealed that both his grandfather and mother battled dementia, saying he witnessed her "disappear" into the memory loss disease until she died at the age of 89.
Of his mother's struggles, Cassidy said: "In the end, the only way I knew she recognised me is with one single tear that would drop from her eye every time I walked into the room. I feared I would end up that way."
