Two friends of NRI student Anmol Sarna, who died after a drug party, facing charges of drug abuse, were Thursday sent to judicial custody till Sep 30 by a Delhi court.

Metropolitan Magistrate Deepak Wason sent Shivank Gambhir, 20, and Madhav, 20, to Tihar Jail after police said they were not required for questioning.

The two were presented before the judge at the end of their two-day police custody.

The court Sep 17 sent the remaining four accused - Pranil Shah, 20, Rythm Girhotra, 20, Surender Bali and Naresh Mishra - to judicial custody till Sep 30.

Sarna, 21, who had completed his high school from New York, was to return to Canada for further studies but died after a drug party Sep 13 night organised at his friend's flat at South Park Apartments in Kalkaji area.

According to police, Pranil and Rytham are friends of Sarna while Bali and Mishra are security guards at the apartment complex in south Delhi where the party took place.

The court adjourned the hearing on the bail applications of Shivank and Madhav for Friday. It will also hear the arguments on bail pleas of Pranil and Rytham the same day.

Police said the party attended by Sarna lasted till midnight after which he was allegedly thrashed by the guards for creating a ruckus in the complex. Around 2 a.m. Sarna was found bleeding at the apartment complex. He died in hospital.

Police have booked the two guards for assaulting Sarna, whereas his four friends have been booked for drug abuse.
