Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Monday reconstituted various standing committees and other panels of the house and held a formal meeting with their members and heads.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Kasturba Nagar, Madan Lal, has replaced Vishesh Ravi as Chairman of the Privileges Committee.
"The Speaker said that heads of the committees should very well know their duties and responsibilities," Madan Lal told IANS.
He said that Goel also stressed on awareness among legislators on issues related to their respective committees for their proper functioning.
"He guided us on how we should conduct meetings with panel members."
Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Jagdish Pradhan, who represented the opposition at the meeting, is the Chairman of the Committee on Delegated Legislation.
Rajinder Nagar's AAP MLA Vijender Garg replaces Mohinder Goyal as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health. Rituraj Govind is the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Development, earlier headed by Sharad Kumar.
Sukhbir Singh Dalal is new Chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Utilities and Civic Amenities while Prakash Jarwal will head the Standing Committee on Finance and Transport.
Bandana Kumari will be Chairperson of the Standing Committee On Welfare of Women and Children, replacing Deputy Speaker and AAP leader Rakhi Birla.
